Tree Farmers

ACCOUNTANTS
Taxpayers who sell timber, set up tree farm bookkeeping or have ongoing tree farm practices (such as planting, thinning, or road construction); need special tax treatment and forms filled out. This is a very specialized area of the code and normally requires a forester -accountant. I can do this part of their return as your backup and you can bill for this as part of your fee. The taxpayer can reap savings far in excess of the additional cost and the returns prepared correctly. I have procedures and code in case of audit.  The IRS has specialists who know this area also. Additional work can involve a Form T-timber (6 pages), Sch D, 4797, 4562, 3468 (Investment Credit), 4684, or Sch A changes (investment expenses). See my questionaire for the form T on this site.
